Hi guys I am Lee form C3 Hosting (your webspace provider)
My parter Andy said i should come here and post with an issue I have had with DVLA as a warning to others.
I past my bike test 13 years ago and had my motorcycle entitlement on my paper license. When i moved 3 years ago I had to upgrade to a photo license. When it arrived I just popped it in my wallet and thought nothing of it. I have not owned a bike for 4 years and recently decided to buy a new bike. However when I looked at my license the motorcycle entitlement was not on it!! I have spoke to DVLA and they have no record of me ever taking a test. Looking into this issue it has happened to lots of people. I have had to write to DVLA and send them my license and they may put it on but apparently this is rare. I have friends in a local Harley club and they know of someone who was done for riding a bike with no licesne even tho he past his test 30 years previous.
So just thought I would post to advise that if you have to send your license off for any reason make sure you take a photocopy. I have been informed that they only keep records of passes for 2 years which in my opinion is a joke.
It is looking like i have to take my test over which means i have to do a new CBT, a theory test and the 2 parts of the bike test which is gonna cost a few quid. This is annoying as I paid £400 13 years ago to pass my test.
Thanks for that Lee,I also know that you can request a new one without returning the old. When the new one arrives and is OK you can then return the old one!! Thanks again. Jim Skip (Jim S) Past President Blue Knights Scotland II RWP

That would certainly be my option Jim. I have "heard" of this happening on a few occasions and aparently the burden of proof is on you...... How wrong is that? Computers! they're great if they get the right info' to start with!
To quote Little Britain, "The computer says no!". What chance do you stand?
apparently when this was on the watchdog programme they featured a motorcycle police officer who had been in the job 20 years and he also "had not pass his test" according to DVLA lol
